The design of the main garments is inspired by the Tibetan Chuba—a warm, ankle-length robe tied at the waist with a long sash, originally designed for Tibet’s cold climate. Its upper portion serves as a large pocket for carrying everything from wallets to bowls. This design is not unique to Tibet; similar traditional garments can be found across Japanese, Bhutanese, Chinese, Korean, Mongolian, and other Asian cultures.
For this collaboration, Agnès b. customized the lining of the Abode of Snow Chuba Down Coat in an electric blue—a color she loves—which adds a graphic touch and brightens the garment. The photograph printed on the lining of the Abode of Snow Mila Down Vest and Mila 2.0 Down Jacket was taken by Agnès b. in her garden during winter. Deeply inspired by her surroundings and photography, Agnès has been printing her personal photos on garments since 1996. While maintaining the silhouette of the Abode of Snow garments, she has added her own signature by incorporating a snow landscape from her immediate intimate environment.
These pieces are designed to transcend fleeting trends and embody a thoughtful philosophy. Particular care was taken in the selection of materials. All products were made in the beautiful city of Kathmandu, Nepal, a region that captures the spirit of the Himalayas. Together, ABODE OF SNOW and agnès b. are committed to creating pieces that reflect their shared values of respect, responsibility, and care for both people and the planet.
